PROLOGUE - 5. NOVEMBER 2021

NOVEMBER 2021 With the contract secured on both our new house and the current one, the building inspections complete, we realized, THIS WAS REAL. We were going to move across the country. We had not seen our son Nat for now 2 years, due to military training, so we decided to celebrate the Hyde Thanksgiving in North Carolina with Nat and his wife Mallory. Not to waste a trip, we began packing up the farm and began our move adventure.

Billy, our younger son, would drive with us as we went across country, Tim pulling our old boat with the F150 and me driving the Subaru, pulling a utility trailer with much of my garden shed stuff and the JD 140 garden tractor. We parked everything in a nearby storage facility, then headed to Raleigh to celebrate.

Bottom line, we had no idea of how all this would come together. In hindsight, it would take 4 rental trucks, 6 trips in my vehicle, and 8 more trips with Tim pulling the cargo trailer, completing his last trip on July 15 with the final load.
