Tim loves to learn about new things, tractors, wireless networks, chickens, or bees - he has a passion for identifying a need, learning what to do and applying what he has learned.
Long before he decided to become a beekeeper, he started learning about what it took to be a beekeeper and how to manage a colony of hives. He became fascinated about the characteristics of bees and how the colony functioned. We were given a couple colonies of hives and he developed a passion for them.
In 2023, Tim decided to take a class on judging honey. He wanted to produce Blue-Ribbon-Quality honey products and crafts made from his hives, weather it was lip balm, extracted honey, candles, lotion bars or beard balm.
Creating exhibit items is a requirement for certification as a honey Judge. the purpose is to assure all judges understand what is involved in exhibiting in shows. Not surprisingly, it takes many iterations lf a product to come up with a suitable entry.
Samples of his entries: photo board, gift basket, beard balm, lotions and more.
