FALL 2024

AUTUMN FINALLY WE HAVE RAIN

June brought on a drought. Much of my time was spent watering orchard and garden, With Autumn, rains again began to fall. Good news, I had planted an additional 8 trees, 3 peach, 3 pear and 2 pecan. .Thankfully, using my new tank sprayer, I was able to drop 25 gallons a trip onto the trees, vines, bushes and plants.

WATER & LEAN-2

While I was keeping plants watered, Tim worked to assure chickens and bees had water. A project we had wanted since day one, was completed. Water line from the well to garage and the barn. It may not seem like much, but this year, it was a huge blessing.

The other project was an addition to the 2-car garage - a lean-2 to protect my small trailer and the Toro lawn mower. In my estimation, I believe we are finished with buildings now.

FRANKLIN COUNTY FAIR
In September, we participated in the Franklin County VA fair. I had volunteered to manage the event through the Master Gardeners Club. As a former 4-Her, I was happy to get involved. The process took a couple of months to organize and a full week of hands-on work. I even conned Tim into judging the honey and egg entries.
